Extension Walthamstow, London

Case Study

Alison & Kat required a new dining area as they did not currently have a dining area. Having an open plan kitchen and living area is great but not for dinning with family.

The room was also doubled up to be an office to allow them to work from home.

The Work

Like most extensions the main work in this project was in the ground. The entire project had to be designed around the existing drainage in the area as it was very close to the boundary and not far off ground level. Therefore, in the pictures it steps in slightly from the left.

The house we are extending is full of character so when adding an extension, it is important for the extension also have something different about it. Using reclaimed stocks and front gable wall we believe has helped this extension fit in with the house.

Unfortunately, there we did not take any internal pictures but inside the ceiling is vaulted to give a feeling of more space.

We also used a zinc roof covering to keep in with the look, and we’re very pleased with the outcome.
